November 28,2006 - Feels good to be in winter type temperatures and have an abundance of snow. It hasn't stopped snowing here however, the snow underneath still remains extremely firm. Yesterday was opening day here at Apex, which meant a few more people here at the mountain. Luckily, we convinced the hill management to open for us at night! We shared the hill with one other team, for a total of about 30 athletes on the hill. We did an assortement of gate drills with no limitations to space or public. The experience was enjoyed by all. In addition, our 9 to 12/5:30 to 8:30 scheduled worked out so that we could watch both the Women's world cup GS in Aspen, and the men's DH in Lake Louise. Way to go Manny!!! (CP) |

October 14 , 2006 - Swiss delight!
While other ski areas in Europe have been experiencing struggles with weather, snow and limited training space for the top athletes in the world, Saas Fee has been in full operation for training since our arrival here in early October. From all the reports we've heard, this seems to be the very best place to be training at the moment in Europe, and one that many of the worlds top skiers are calling their home training area for early October in preparation for the World Cups at Soelden. Among others that have trained here; Maria Jose Rienda-Contreras, Tanja Poutianen, Max Blardone, Davide Simoncelli, Giorgio Rocca, Stephane Tissot, along with the rest of their respective National Teams, the French, the Swedes and of course the Swiss. August 27, 2006 - Today
we enjoyed our first off day. It was a little cooler today then
other days but it didnt keep us from having an intense soccer
game along with some strength exercices and stretching. After
having lunch, Jazz and Seb started their individual meetings
with each athlete to discuss goals and going over any questions
we had. Tomorrow we are getting new cooks and maids because our
old ones are leaving to go back to Santiago. We will miss the
good food and service. I can´t
believe we are already starting the second week of camp. More
updates will follow, keep reading... |

24, 2006 - Hey
everyone! I
can´t
believe we´re already going on to day 6 of training. It
feels like just yesterday we were in the airport. Time
has really been flying by here in Chile. We´ve been
doing long days of training: we start when the t-bar opens
at 9 and ski until it closes again at 5. Everybody is skiing
great, the drills that Seb and Jazz give us are bringing the
entire team to some awesome skiing. Our equipment is also great
thanks to the wonderful Chris. Also, the weather is amazing:
blue skies with sunshine everyday. Our lodge is very cozy,
and the chileans here are all very friendly. I have to
go now, but I´ll see you in a couple of weeks! Read More... |
